I am a writer.
It's what I've always wanted to be.
An author. Just saying it is cool.
Harriet the Spy got me writing in the 4th grade and I never looked back. I dabbled in a little bit of everything at one time or another; trying my hand at poetry, short stories, essay. It was the novel, harsh mistress of the 70,000 word manuscript, that won my heart, though.
And so much to the chagrin of my patient and loving wife, writing is an almost all consuming passion. Well, that and Mafia Wars. But, hey, it's not a perfect world.
I write in the evening after the kids have gone to bed. I write on my miniature laptop, on the pristine pages of one of my moleskin notebooks, and on blank printer paper. I apparently have no scruples. But I love what I do.
